1. Organizer, purpose and scope

Aurea Music Prize 2026 (the “Competition”) is an international online artistic competition organized and promoted by Associazione Forlì Cultura. Final Round invoices are issued by Associazione Forlì Cultura.

The Competition is open to performers, composers, duos, ensembles and amateur musicians. Awards are based exclusively on artistic assessment. There is no random draw, betting mechanism or purchase of a chance to win.

2. Consolidation of the 2026 conditions

Following a technical configuration issue connected with the closure and replacement of the 2026 application pages, the website did not continuously display all Competition conditions on one permanent standalone page.

The essential conditions were communicated through the website, application forms, finalist invitations, payment pages and official correspondence. This page consolidates those conditions and records operational clarifications provided in response to candidates’ questions. It does not retroactively change fees already paid, accepted materials, confirmed eligibility, the advertised total EUR 2,000 fund or a more favourable individual written arrangement.

According to the Organizer’s administrative records at the consolidation date, 260 Preliminary Round applications were received, 130 candidates were selected as finalists and 80 finalists completed the Final Round. These figures are descriptive and create no quota, probability of success or individual entitlement.

3. Eligibility, categories and equal treatment

Musicians of any nationality and age may participate, subject to the chosen category. Main categories include Classical Performance, Jazz Performance, Composition, Duo/Chamber Music/Ensemble and Amateur Open. Minors require authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

No artistic decision may be based on nationality, ethnic origin, religion, political opinion, disability, sex, gender identity or another protected characteristic.

4. Geopolitical and payment-related accommodations

To enable effective international participation, the Organizer could grant individual administrative accommodations to candidates affected by war, international sanctions, banking restrictions, unavailable payment systems, currency restrictions or comparable documented geopolitical difficulties.

Accommodations could include individual extensions, alternative payment methods, instalments, fee reductions or waivers, and provisional administrative confirmation while a documented banking obstacle was addressed. They did not alter artistic standards, add points, guarantee admission or awards, or disadvantage other candidates. Jurors are not informed of individual financial arrangements unless strictly necessary.

5. Video and artistic materials

One video that fairly represents the artist is sufficient. There is no minimum or maximum duration, recording-age limit or production-quality requirement, provided that the artist can be identified and properly assessed. Instrumentalists’ hands and performing gesture must remain visible; for voice and other disciplines, identity and the relevant performing action must remain visible.

The assessed performance must be a continuous, unedited take. Internal cuts, splices, overdubs, audio replacement, pitch or time correction and deceptive performance manipulation are prohibited. Neutral trimming before or after the performance, platform transcoding and non-deceptive file compression are permitted. Separate works may be submitted as separate continuous takes.

Participants warrant that information is accurate, that they are the represented performer or author, and that they hold the necessary rights. Composition applicants must guarantee authorship and disclose substantial use of generative systems affecting authorship or the musical content assessed.

6. Competition stages and 2026 dates

The free Preliminary Round determined admission to the Final Round. The original 31 July deadline was extended to 2 August 2026. Selected finalists received a private invitation and payment link. An individual written extension did not affect artistic assessment.

The same artistic material could be used in both rounds unless replacement was expressly requested. Final artistic results are scheduled for 10 September 2026. Scholarship recipients may be announced with the results or later, but no later than 30 September 2026.

7. Final Round fees and refunds

The 2026 standard Final Round fees were EUR 69 for Solo Performance or Composition, EUR 49 for Amateur Open and EUR 89 for Duo or Ensemble. A written reduction, waiver, instalment arrangement or alternative payment method remains valid for its recipient and has no effect on evaluation.

The fee covers administration, specialist artistic assessment, results management and the standard digital certificate. It does not purchase a chance to win and does not guarantee a title, scholarship, concert or professional opportunity.

Once administrative processing or artistic assessment has begun, the Final Round fee is non-refundable in the event of voluntary withdrawal, non-participation, failure to provide usable material attributable to the participant, dissatisfaction with the result, or refusal of a later opportunity. A refund is due only for a duplicate charge, cancellation without completion of the paid assessment, definitive failure by the Organizer to provide the paid service, or where mandatory applicable law requires it. Nothing in these Regulations excludes non-waivable consumer or payment rights.

8. Jury, conflicts and assessment

Jurors are appointed according to relevant artistic expertise. Candidates may be assigned to one or more jurors by discipline, age division or category; every juror need not assess every finalist. Jurors must act impartially and disclose teaching, family, management, employment, financial or other material relationships that could compromise independence. A conflicted juror must not assess or advocate for the relevant participant.

Performance assessment considers technical command, interpretive depth, stylistic understanding, artistic identity, communication and overall maturity. Composition assessment considers craft, originality, structural coherence, idiomatic feasibility, expressive impact and clarity of presentation. Production quality is relevant only to minimum audibility and visibility.

9. Rankings and final artistic decisions

Aurea may award First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, Special Prize, Honourable Mention or finalist recognition, including ex aequo awards. More than one First Prize may be awarded.

Artistic decisions are final, binding within the Competition, not subject to appeal and not open to challenge on artistic merit. A participant may not demand a new hearing or evaluation merely because another artistic opinion is possible. This does not prevent correction of an objective clerical or calculation error, or the exercise of mandatory rights concerning fraud, discrimination, an undisclosed conflict or a material procedural failure.

10. Single EUR 2,000 scholarship fund

The 2026 edition provides one total cross-category fund of EUR 2,000 gross, offered as artistic-development scholarships. It is not EUR 2,000 for each category, discipline, age group, ranking or First Prize.

A First Prize title does not automatically carry a scholarship or payment. Eligible First Prize recipients are considered separately by a three-member jury panel. The fund may be divided among one to four recipients; no individual award may be below EUR 250 and the announced awards must total EUR 2,000.

Payment is made within 60 days of the specific public or direct announcement of the recipients, provided that correct identity, tax and banking information is supplied. Amounts are gross and may be subject to legally required withholding, reporting, banking charges or currency conversion. The description “scholarship” does not itself guarantee tax exemption.

11. Concerts, Verbosound and other opportunities

Concert opportunities in Italy, Poland or other partner contexts, Verbosound support and other professional opportunities are selective, subsequent possibilities and not automatic prizes. Assignment is at the Artistic Direction’s discretion, taking into account jury indications, artist profile, presenter interest, repertoire, schedule, venue, travel feasibility and any independent partner selection.

No ranking, title, jury recommendation or submission to a venue creates a right to an engagement. An opportunity exists only when the artist receives and accepts a separate written invitation stating the partner and applicable terms.

The separate invitation may provide a fee, travel reimbursement, tickets, accommodation, meals or another in-kind benefit, in whole or in part; it may also be unpaid. Aurea makes no advance promise of travel, board, accommodation, fee, visa, date or economic value. The artist may decline without losing an already awarded title or scholarship. Non-cash opportunities do not reduce or replace the EUR 2,000 fund.

12. Results, certificates and rights in materials

Official results may be communicated by email and published on Aurea’s website and official social channels, identifying the participant by name, country, discipline/category, division and distinction. Objective spelling or category errors should be reported within seven days. Standard certificates are digital.

Participants retain copyright and ownership of performances, compositions, biographies, photographs and other materials, subject to third-party rights. Submission grants Aurea and authorized jurors a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access and internally copy materials only as necessary to administer, assess, document and defend the Competition. Wider promotional use requires a separate valid authorization where required by law.

13. Integrity and disqualification

Proportionate measures, including disqualification or withdrawal of a title, may be taken for material false information, plagiarism, submission of another person’s performance, deceptive manipulation, rights infringement, bribery or improper influence, prohibited contact intended to influence a juror, harassment, discrimination, deliberate technical interference or refusal of reasonable verification. Except where urgent protection is required, the participant should receive written notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond.

14. Technical issues, liability and force majeure

For a verifiable platform, website or link problem, the Organizer may extend a deadline, postpone assessment or request an equivalent file to ensure consistent treatment. Dates may be adjusted where strictly necessary because of cyber incidents, serious illness or jury unavailability, legal restrictions, sanctions, disaster, war, essential supplier failure or another event outside reasonable control.

Associazione Forlì Cultura is responsible for commitments expressly undertaken in its own name. The Organizer is not responsible for independent decisions of venues, festivals or partners; participant-side technical failures; costs incurred without a written invitation; or indirect and unforeseeable loss, to the extent permitted by law. No provision excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

15. Changes, governing law and language

The Organizer may correct clerical errors, clarify ambiguity and record good-faith operational details developed in response to candidates’ questions. No later change may reduce the EUR 2,000 fund, alter a paid fee, introduce retroactive video duration, age or production-quality requirements, or penalize conduct previously accepted.

Italian law applies. Mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction remain unaffected. These Regulations are available in English and Italian; in the event of inconsistency, the Italian text prevails.
